A:  Any person 18 years or older within the United States.

Q: How much does a raffle ticket cost?
A: A raffle ticket cost $150 each. Up to 3 people may enter per ticket.

Q: How many raffle tickets will be sold?
A: No more than 18,000 tickets will be sold.

Q: How many can I buy?
A: You may purchase as many available tickets as you want.

Q: How does the raffle benefit the non-profit Kadima Hebrew Academy?
A: Raffle proceeds after prizes and expenses will be used by Kadima Academy for scholarships, outreach programs, and for bringing high quality education to children in the community. The raffle is registered with the California Attorney General’s office. State of California Non-Profit Raffle Registration # RF-0000079.

Q: How does the non-profit Kadima Academy benefit San Fernando Valley?
A: Kadima Hebrew Academy was founded in 1970. The most fundamental task of its schooling is to provide students with the tools (skills, critical thinking capacities, and processes) that facilitate lifelong learning. “A school, like a person, takes on the personality of the people, places, events and ideas, which comprise it. Kadima Hebrew Academy is no exception. The laughing, curious faces of the children, the sense of home no matter where our home has been, the innovative programs we have dared to make real, and our constant goal of quality education all go into making a very special place with a very special history”.

Q: When will I get my ticket(s)?
A: As soon as your payment clears, your ticket(s) will be processed. All corresponding ticket stubs will be entered into the raffle drum and you will receive a ticket receipt in the mail.  Please allow 10-14 business days for delivery. Your ticket receipt is NOT required to win.  We call winners by name, not ticket numbers.

Q: Is my raffle ticket tax deductible?
A: No. The IRS’ position is that amounts paid for chances in raffles, lotteries or similar drawings for valuable prizes are wagers, and consequently do not qualify as deductible charitable contributions. 

Q: What are the Early Bird Drawings?
A: The Valley Million Dollar Home Raffle has two early bird drawings that reward early entrants with additional cash prizes as an incentive to enter now.  All tickets, including the Early Bird winning tickets, are automatically re-entered for the Final and Grand Prize Drawing.

Q: By entering the bonus Early Bird Drawings will I have more than one chance to win?
A: Yes! Early raffle ticket purchasers will be eligible for multiple drawings for cash as well as the Grand Prize Drawing for the $1 million Valley Home or $800,000 in cash. Purchase deadline dates must be met to ensure entry in the Early Bird Drawings and the Final & Grand Prize Drawing.

Q: What is the Multi-ticket Bonus Drawing and how do I qualify for it?
A: The Multi-ticket Bonus Drawing is an incentive drawing for those ticket buyers who purchase more than one ticket.  The prizes for the Bonus Drawing are as follows: First Prize: A BMW Z4 or $30,000 cash; Second Prize: a luxury cruise or $10,000 cash; Third Prize: a custom entertainment center with installation or $7000 in cash; Fourth Prize: a year of Gas or $4000 in cash. As soon as you purchase 2 or more tickets, ALL tickets with identical names and address go into the Bonus Drawing. The Multi-ticket bonus drawing deadline for entry is Wednesday December 19th, 2007 (unless tickets sell out early). The Drawing is held on Thursday December 27th, 2007 at 6pm.

Q: How many prizes are there and what are my odds?
A: 110 total prizes.  If purchasing 2 or more tickets, 114 prizes. The earlier you enter and the more tickets that you purchase, the more opportunities you have for your ticket to be drawn. All tickets including winning tickets are automatically re-entered for the next drawing. You could be a multiple winner! For more complete information, review the Rules & Regulations.

Early Bird One: Deadline for entry: Wednesday August 22nd, 2007. Drawing will be held Sunday, September 2nd, 2007 at 2 p.m. Five prizes awarded: First Prize: $15,000. Second Prize: $5,000. Prizes 3-5: $1,000 each.  All tickets including the winning tickets are re-entered into the raffle for the Early Bird 2, Final and Grand Prize drawings.

Early Bird Two: Deadline for entry: Wednesday September 19th, 2007. Drawing will be held Sunday, September 30th, 2007 at 2 p.m. Five prizes awarded: First Prize: $15,000. Second Prize: $5,000. Prizes 3-5: $1,000 each. All tickets including the winning tickets are re-entered into the raffle for the Final and Grand Prize drawings.

Early Bird Three: Deadline for entry: Wednesday October 25th, 2007. Drawing will be held Sunday, November 4th, 2007 at 2 p.m. Five prizes awarded: First Prize: $5,000. Second Prize: $1,000. Third Prize: $1,000. All tickets including the winning tickets are re-entered into the raffle for the Final and Grand Prize drawings.

Early Bird Four: Deadline for entry: Wednesday November 28th, 2007. Drawing will be held Sunday, December 9th, 2007 at 2 p.m. Five prizes awarded: First Prize: $5,000. Second Prize: $1,000. Third Prize: $1,000. All tickets including the winning tickets are re-entered into the raffle for the Final and Grand Prize drawings.

Multi-ticket Drawing: Deadline for entry: Wednesday December 19th, 2007 (unless tickets sell out early). Drawing will be held Thursday December 27th, 2007. The prizes for the Bonus Drawing are as follows: First Prize: BMW Z4 or $30,000 cash; Second Prize: an luxury cruise or $10,000 cash; Third Prize: custom entertainment center with installation or $7000 in cash; Fourth Prize: a one year supply of gas or $4000 in cash.

GRAND PRIZE and Final Drawing: Grand Prize: Grand Prize Winner may choose either the $1 million West Hills Home (estimated home value $1 Million with Furnishings) or $800,000 cash. An additional 99 prizes (prizes 2 - 60) to be awarded in the Final Drawing which takes place prior to Grand Prize announcement. Prize 2: $25,000, Prize 3: $10,000, Prize 4: $5,000, Prize 5: $2,000, Prizes 6 - 10: $1000 each, Prizes 11 - 100: $300 each.  All tickets including winning tickets from Prizes 2- 60 will be re-entered for the Grand Prize drawing. To be eligible, ticket payment must be received by Wednesday, December 19th, 2007, or prior to 18,000 tickets sold. Drawing will be held Sunday, December 30th, 2007, 2 pm at a location to be announced. Grand Prize Drawing date is subject to change, if Raffle sells out early.  The grand prize winner will have 14 days from the date of winning to inspect the home before choosing the home or the $800,000 cash

Q: Do I have to be present at the drawing(s) to win?
A: No, you do not need to be present to win.  Winners will be called within 2 business days of the Early Bird 1 & 2 and Multi-ticket drawings.  Winners in the Final and Grand Prize drawings will be contacted within 4 business days of the drawing.

Q: How will winners be notified?
A: Winners will be notified by phone or US mail according to the contact info provided on the entry form.

Q: Are the pictures of the house the actual house being used in the raffle?
A: No. Since the actual Prize House was not completed in time for the launch of the raffle, a house that is nearly identical to the Prize House was used in the photos. The furnishings that were used in the photos are the ones that the Grand Prize Winner will win, if the house prize is elected.

Q: Why is the raffle being extended?
A: Kadima Hebrew Academy wants to take full advantage of this fundraising experience and wants to extend the opportunity to purchase to buyers who many not have found out about the raffle until now. To compensate the ticket buyers who have purchased already, we added two Early Bird Drawings (3 & 4) for a total of $14,000 additional cash prizes. The new final deadline is December 19th and the final cash and Grand Prize Drawings will be held on December 30th, 2007 at 2pm at Shadow Ranch Park in Canoga Park.
